Pillowcase Dress!

I was looking around online for ideas for my daughter's first birthday party! I have decided the theme will be cupcakes and polka dots, anyway I came across the cutest cupcake pillow case dresses. I looked around online to find out how to make them. After school I went straight to the quilt store to find some facbric to make one. It only took 1/2 yd of fabric and 1 1/4 yard of ric rac and some ribbon, or you can use a pillowcase! I think that it turned out so cute for my first attempt. I will be making several more of them and I will post a tutorial of how to make them. They are the easiest thing to make. I have never made a dress before, so I am so excited! Here is the cute little polka dot pillow case dress! I can't wait to let her wear it!

February Table Runner

I finally finished my February table runner. For those of you who don't know I am making a runner for each month. My cute crafting partner in crime found the pattern to make a table runner for each month. I am happy with how it turned out except the binding. I was told by someone to sew on the binding instead of hand sewing it and it doesn't look the greatest. Hopefully I will get better next time. Did I mention I love Valentine's day and the colors that represent it!

Kid's Apron!

My friend's little girl turned 2 last week! She got a kitchen set for her birthday and so I figured that you can't have a kitchen set without having an apron to go with it. I found this fabric for my Valentine's runner and I fell in love with it. I was going to make my daughter a skirt out of it, but that will come later. I didn't have a pattern, I just winged it. It is far from perfect, because I only had about 45 minutes to make it. All in all I think it turned out cute! I didn't take step by step pictures, because of my time crunch. I also am going to add a pocket to the front! Anyway here is a picture of my first attempt.

Let's get this party started!

I have decided to start a craft blog! Am I crazy? I am not sure yet! I do know that my family blog was being taken over by my crafts and decorations. I decided it was time to create another blog to share my crafts instead of on my personal blog. My poor kids are not getting talked about near as often. So this is how this all came about. I am making no promises or guarantees that I will post every week. I will try, but it seems like time just flies by way too fast. So wish me luck and hopefully I can inspire people and you can inspire me as well as I continued to do what I L.O.V.E., CRAFTING!!!! Today I have posted some crafts and decorations that are around my house for Valentine's day!

About Me!

All About Leslie!

I am married to a fun loving man named Jason! We met on the Internet, I know a little crazy! We have been married 3 1/2 years and plan on many more to come!
I am a mother of 3 adorable children! I have a boy named, Brock who is 9, a daughter named, Jaylee who is 2 and a little guy named Daxen who is was born in April (6months)!
I am a working mom! I teach Special Education at the high school level! My degree was originally in Elementary education and I would love to teach kindergarten someday.
I love to craft! I have a huge little addiction to crafting! I can't help it, I see cute ideas and have to make them.  I love to sew, paint, and decorate! I get so excited to open a can of paint, I just LOVE the smell of it! Don't get the wrong idea! Painting is my therapy along with all my other crating obsessions.
I decided that my family blog was becoming a place of crafts instead of family happenings, so that is how Night Owl Crafting came about.  I am the biggest night owl and this is when I get my burst of energy to create.  I am so excited to share my journey of craft projects with my fellow bloggers!
